Day 4: Chawton House

Morning

This morning, you will visit Chawton House, beautiful ‘Great House’ as referred to in Jane Austen’s letters. Home to her brother and now a fantastic museum to Jane Austen and other female literary greats this is an eye-opening and engaging visit for all students of English literature. Including a tour of the historic house and a traditional English cream tea in the grounds.

Afternoon

Hear more about the life and work of Jane Austen, her influences from other female authors, Gothic literature, or the Regency Period more generally with a specialist talk from one of the Chawton experts. Tailored to your groups’ interests, these talks are a great opportunity to engage students further and give them another opportunity to ask their burning questions.

Day 5: Bloomsbury & West End
