<\/span>If there\u2019s one place that\u2019s big enough for you to get an insight into every subject your school teaches, it\u2019s America. Filled with a myriad of unique terrains and geology, exciting national & global histories, and up-to-the-moment technological development, there\u2019s something to interest every student in the USA. <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019re so excited to launch our new itineraries for educational tours to America. These showcase programmes offer a glimpse into just what the Learning Adventure can provide. On our school trips to the USA<\/a>, students can dive into politics at the White House, Anglo-American history at the Boston Tea Party Museum, and business in Silicon Valley.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Culture in Boston & New York<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Contemporary American culture is everywhere globally, whether it be in the movies we watch, or the fashion we wear. However, it\u2019s the country\u2019s cultural history that provides real insight into the way the USA \u2013 and the world at large \u2013 has developed.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this 7-day tour to the East Coast, students explore two key cultural hubs: Boston and New York. Arriving in Boston, students will get a glimpse of the new with a tour of Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox), mixed with an exploration of the old. Students will walk the Freedom Trail, which connects 16 of Boston\u2019s most important historical sites from the American Revolution onwards. They\u2019ll pay visits to amazing art collections at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Harvard Art Museums, helping them to place American contributions to art alongside the rest of the world. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, once they\u2019ve moved on to New York, students will explore how important moments in American history have had a real impact on their culture today. A visit to the World Trade Center observatory and the 9\/11 Memorial teaches them about the darker moments in recent American history. Taking a tour with an expert around Harlem provides them with key opportunities to learn about the civil rights movement in the USA. Then, finally, they\u2019ll explore Wall Street, gaining an understanding of the contribution America makes to the global economy at large. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Geography in Texas<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For a real-life example of some of the world\u2019s most incredible geological landscapes, you can do no better than Texas. From arid desert regions to fast rivers, underground caves to vast lakes \u2013 a geography school tour in the USA provides you with a unique opportunity to explore physical geography on a very visual level. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re in Texas for a week on our trip. For the human geography and culture side of things, students get a chance to explore the man-made delights of Austin. Then, moving further afield, we throw ourselves into some amazing locations. Students will head 130ft under the surface with a trip to the Long Horn Cavern State Park, and cruise down the Rio Grande on a boat tour. They\u2019ll sleep under the stars in Big Bend National Park and examine fossils from millions of years ago at Canyon Lake. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the way, there\u2019ll be chances for unique, life-enriching experiences. They\u2019ll stay overnight in a ranch in Bandera, the cowboy capital of the world. We\u2019ll also take you to a mining ghost town, where they can get a window into America\u2019s industrial past. Then, students will traverse the stars with a visit to an observatory under some of the darkest skies in North America. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Politics & Debate in the Northeast<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our politics school trip takes in both the roots of American politics and its development, and the modern-day global political systems in which the US takes part. Students will get a well-rounded look at American political history, exploring everything from its foundation in Washington DC to intergovernmental organizations in New York. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the 9-days, students will get the chance to visit 4 key cities: Boston, Philadelphia, DC & New York. In Washington, there\u2019ll be tours of the Capitol and the Supreme Court, visits to the Library of Congress, and a talk with a real pressure group. In Philadelphia, students will get to grips with America\u2019s declaration of liberty at Independence Hall. In Boston, they\u2019ll explore the history of the country\u2019s founding with a visit to the Paul Revere House. Then, in New York they\u2019ll tour the UN headquarters.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Tech & Business in California <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When we think of some of the biggest players in tech, they\u2019re intrinsically tied to the USA \u2013 Google, Tesla, Apple. A school trip to California provides a unique opportunity to immerse business students in the realities of their subject. There are chances to explore tech museums, speak to specialists, and be inspired by the developments being made today. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A week in California on our trip sees students visit the Intel Museum and the Tech Museum of Innovation, to see what has come before in order to fully understand what lies ahead. They\u2019ll tour Google\u2019s grounds, visit a Tesla showroom, and take a trip to an Amazon Fulfilment Center partially staffed with robots that are reimagining business. Students will speak to tech experts at the Hacker Dojo and learn about the business of digital entertainment at the MADE Museum. Crucially, there\u2019s also a chance for budding businesspeople to ask burning questions, when they pay a visit to a real Silicon Valley start-up breaking new ground in the tech world. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>History on the East Coast<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

America is a great place to plan a history trip \u2013 not only because the sheer volume of historical attractions that the country holds in the present day, but because of its place in global history. On our 10-day history tour, students are given the chance to explore social, cultural, artistic, and political history, along with some exciting leisure activities. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Boston, alongside our visits to the Tea Party Museum and the Freedom Trail tour, students will also get to visit the impressive home of the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park. Then, in New York, they\u2019ll get the chance to explore the MET and some of the incredible 2 million pieces within it. They\u2019ll also explore the Brooklyn and DUMBO area, head to Times Square, and take a high-octane jetboat ride out into New York Harbour. In Philadelphia, they\u2019ll check out the Liberty Bell and run up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum like Rocky, before checking out the Museum of the American Revolution.  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, an incredible couple of days awaits students in Washington DC. In amongst the unmissable political attractions, students will also visit Arlington Cemetery, the National Mall<\/a>, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
