Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo

  • Arrive at the airport where our enthusiastic Adventure Leaders will be waiting for you at the arrivals gate, waving our Learning Adventure flag. 
  • Get a beautiful view of Tokyo like no other with a trip to the top of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. 

 

Day 2: Meiji Shrine

  • Your “Introduction to Japan” will be led by a Japanese language teacher and local students.
  • Visit the beautiful Meiji Shrine, dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and his wife. Then, move on to the Harujuku district, Tokyo’s cultural epicentre, to see Pokémon, punks, goths and fashionistas. Anything goes in Harajuku! 
  • In the evening, pay a visit to the famous Shibuya CrossingIt‘s arguably one of the most iconic modern sights in Tokyo! 

Day 3: Training and school visit

  • For an amazing cultural exchange, pay a visit to a local school. Students will take a tour and join lessons with local students, giving them a chance to understand the cultural differences between Japanese schooling and their own. 
  • Later in the afternoon enjoy a training session with your team.

Day 4: River cruise and fixture

  • It’s time for a fixture with a Japanese team! 
  • At lunchtime hop aboard the Sumida River Cruise for a breathtaking view of the Tokyo Skyline. 

Day 5: Hakone and Mount Fuji

  • Escape the bustling city and embark on a day trip to Hakone. Take in breathtaking views of iconic Mount Fuji, as you ascend the volcanic alley of Owakudani by cable car.
  • Enjoy some time after your decent in the picturesque town nestled in the stunning Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park to see how people outside of the major cities really live. 

Day 6: Training and tea ceremony

  • Use the beautiful facilities for another team training session.
  • Your students can experience historical practices of a Japanese tea ceremony and discover Zen with a nationally qualified tea master. 

Day 7: Sumo wrestling

  • Get a glimpse into Japanese culture and meet sumo wrestlers! Watch them wrestle, take pictures with them and if you are lucky, you can get a chance to wrestle with the sumo wrestler! 
  • Enjoy a training session with your team.

Day 8: Fixtures and karaoke

  • Enjoy a fixture with a Japanese team! 
  • In the evening, belt out some ballads at your own private Japanese karaoke spot. Sing in English – or show off your Japanese skills!

Day 9: Tokyo Imperial Palace and eSports

  • Explore the gardens of the Tokyo Imperial Palace, built on the site of the old Edo Castle. 
  • Red° Tokyo Tower is Japan’s largest eSports park, right inside Tokyo Tower. Be immersed in sports-inspired games and activities such as puzzle-solving, jumping rope, or fighting invaders using AR motion sensors.

Day 10: Sensoji Temple and training

  • In the morning, walk through the district of Asakusa, where an atmosphere of ancient Tokyo survives. Discover the charming streets lined with traditional craft shops and street-food stalls and visit Sensoji Temple, one of Tokyo’s most colorful and popular Buddhist temples.
  • Next, with the assistance of friendly volunteers, learn how to properly wear a kimono and experience the elegance and grace of this iconic attire. 
  • Enjoy a training session with your rugby team. 
  • Create a new signature dish in this sushi-making experience with a nationally-accredited instructor. Experience hands-on training and learn how to create beautifully shaped sushi using simple utensils. 

Day 11: Robot cafe and training

  • Pay a visit to the innovative Dawn Avatar Robot Café, which features real humanoid robots that serve customers. These robots are operated remotely via the internet, serving as avatars for people who can’t leave the house for long periods of time due to physical disabilities, childcare or for other reasons.   
  • Have a training session with your team. 

Day 12: Fixtures and Akihabara

  • Enjoy a fixture with a Japanese team! 
  • Take a trip to Akihabara, nicknamed Japan’s ‘Electric Town’ thanks to its postwar industry. Today, it’s a cultural centre for anime and manga lovers, and is also home to Japan’s most famous J-pop group, AKB48. 

Day 13: Museum and training

  • Have a training session and prepare yourself for the rugby game! 
  • Visit Japan’s major science center at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), where you can learn about the incredible advancements the country is making in science and technology. 
  • At night, check out the views from Odaiba Waterfront, from the stunning illuminations on Rainbow Bridge to the replica of the Statue of Liberty, which commemorates the French Year in Japan. 

Day 14: Kamakura

  • Be amazed by the Great Buddha of Kamakura, a bronze statue which stands on the grounds of Kotokuin Temple.  
  • Be immersed in nature at the beautiful Hokokuji bamboo forest in Kamakura. While here, pay a visit to the beautiful Hokokuji Temple, along with a small tea house selling authentic matcha tea. 

Day 15: Ginza District and training

  • Walk around Ginza District, the renowned, more up-market shopping, dining, and entertainment district. 
  • Explore the beautiful and historical Hamarikyu Gardens in Tokyo, which used to be part of the family residence of the Tokugawa shogun, and which functioned as an outer fort for Edo Castle. 
  • Have a training session with your rugby team.

Day 16: Fixture and Team Lab

  • It’s time for a fixture with a Japanese team! 
  • Discover the mesmerizing world of digital art at Team Lab in Japan. Step into interactive installations that combine technology, art, and nature, creating immersive and ethereal experiences 

Day 17: Departure day

  • Today marks your last day. So, it’s time to head back to the airport for your flight home
