Quick Facts

Language

Korean is the official language of South Korea, spoken by more than 50 million people. On our trips, students pick up practical phrases by chatting with locals, ordering food, and following real-world instructions.

Food

South Korea is famous for kimchi, a staple side dish of fermented vegetables seasoned with chili, garlic, and ginger. Dating back centuries, kimchi reflects Korea’s resourcefulness and communal culture. Families often gather to prepare large batches in autumn, preserving ingredients for winter and passing this flavorful tradition through generations.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites

South Korea is home to 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Gyeongju’s historic area, the Jongmyo Shrine, and the volcanic landscapes of Jeju Island. These sites open the door to learning about Confucian rituals, ancient kingdoms, and natural conservation. Each visit brings history, religion, and environmental studies vividly to life.
